"Joy Joy Joy"

Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Psalm 126:5 NIV

The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy. Psalm 126:3 NIV

Beethoven's Ode to Joy is symphony dedicated to the ideal of universal freedom and peace among all peoples. But Jesus states in Matthew 24:6 that world will be filled with wars and rumors of wars until He comes again. Making a personal quest for joy without appealing to God's grace is a frivolous activity!

"In praise of God: Lover of my soul"

We love because he first loved us. I John 4:19

Oh, the joy in knowing Jesus as our Savior and friend! Our knowledge, coupled with faith and love for Jesus, generates a new outlook (born again) on life! Now equipped with this enlighten mindset, we are invited to become God's chosen children. Because He first loved us, we cannot boast of having any role in His choosing us to be His children!

"March of the Lamb"

Isaiah 53:7:
He was oppressed and afflicted yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to be slaughtered....

On the Monday before Passover Jesus majestically traveled upon a donkey's colt into Jerusalem while being reverently honored by cloaks and tree branches placed in his path accompanied by shouts of "Hosanna to the Son of David"; Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord"; and "Hosanna in the highest heaven".

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

"Who Am I"

1 John 4:4
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

Who am I? What are the spiritual, natural, and social influences that make me who I am? The recent launch of the William Smith space telescope (latest iteration of the Tower of Babel project) is designed to go a million miles into space to capture what space looked like at the time the Big Bang occurred.

"The Godliness of Truth"

2 Timothy 2:15
Present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and correctly handles the word of truth.

I must be vigilant to ensure that I always tell the truth! All truth is God's truth! Jesus is the way, the TRUTH, and the life! Once a person is saved the Holy Spirit installs truth at the entrance of the human heart. Then the heart begins its sanctifying role of subjecting the self to God's truth! Truth is not a guest in a believer's heart; it is the master of the house. In us truth must be a living force, in active energy, indwelling reality, part of the essence of who we are.

"Cheerful Holiness"

Psalm 94:1
Come, let us sing with JOY to our Lord; shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.

Jesus is the great teacher of lowliness of heart. This truth is in stark contrast to this world's value system. According to the centuries old valve system, amassing wealth and power are the ultimate goals of a life well lived. Doing your own thing, independent of anyone telling you what to do is seen as the definition of a fulfilling life. As some modern Christians are blinded by adopting this fallacy, it brings secular skepticism of God's commandment to love our neighbors.

He humbled himself.

"Watchful Eyes of Our Father"

2 Chronicles 16:9
For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen the hearts of those fully committed to Him.

While the ungodly ignore divine omnipresence, this fact is a source of great comfort to His children! Even when we fail to live up to His standards, His thoughts towards us are guided by His love and provides us with a means to escape temptation. In our disobedience, our watchful Father signals to our weak soul we have arrived in enemy territory. Immediately, He empowers us to confess our sins and welcomes us back to His fellowship!

"Following the Cross"

Matthew 16:24:
Jesus told His disciples, if anyone would come after me, let Him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

Easter 2021 is over and Easter 2022 is a year away. (April 17, 2022) In the meantime you and I will recognize the cross icon on jewelry, stained glass windows and at the top of church steeples. But how often will we recall its significance with our spiritual mind's eye? Do we believe that meditating on Jesus's cross might bring us a little closer to understanding the dimensions of God's love for us?
