"Cheerful Holiness"

Come, let us sing with JOY to our Lord; shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.Psalm 94:1

In Christ, our sins are forgiven! Atoned for by the blood of Jesus! The joyous heart is a distinctive mark of new and abiding life in Jesus! Joy changes the demeanor of the new (and old) believer's temperament!

And joy is among the most important ongoing fruit of the Holy Spirit living in a believer's life! It is a gift that is further enhanced by our daily walk with our Heavenly Father! (Nehemiah 8:10) Meditate on this truth: God's lasting joy does not come from favorable external circumstances! It is an exclusive gift from knowing and remaining close to God. Much like the sealing of our salvation, joy is something all born again believers have in their spiritual DNA.

Meditating upon God's joy that is deeply planted within our soul will cause the fruits of healing and happiness to grow in our lives. More than spiritual harmony and contentment, joy produces healthful benefits to our physical body! God who made us knows how to sustain physical as well as spiritual health within our body. But we do not live on a God friendly island. We live in the midst of spiritual warfare. Has the light of your joyous spirit been dimmed by warfare fatigue?

We move throughout the day working on one task after another, barely taking time to check on how our weariness is impacting our walk with Jesus.

When is the last time you spent time meditating on the love and goodness of our Lord! Remember you are an image bearer of our Lord; our countenance should reflect the joy of our salvation!

The Bible exhorts us to think right thoughts and live contented, godly lives! Present our bodies as a living sacrifice! God wants us to set our minds on things above! Let the joy and God's peace rule our hearts! Holy gladness and holy boldness will make our lives effective preachers of the Gospel.

Cheerful holiness has the spiritual impact of a strong revivalist sermon! May God use His pardoning mercy, and His unspeakable blessing of joy to daily set our countenance as we engage in the Lord's work on earth!

There is joy in serving Jesus
As I journey on my way.
Joy that fills the heart with praise
Every hour and every day.

There is joy on serving Jesus
Joy amid the darkest night.
For I've learned the wondrous secret
And I'm walking in the light.

Refrain There is joy, joy Joy in serving Jesus
Joy that throbs within my heart.
Every moment, every hour. As I draw upon His power
There is joy, joy Joy that never will depart.
