Ephesians 1:13 "And you were also included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in Him with the seal, the promised Holy Spirit."
What a blessing to know that our eternal destiny with Jesus was sealed at our conversion experience! We went from being a lost soul, thinking and acting as the sole manager of our destiny to an awareness of our sinfulness. Then accepting the Lordship of Jesus and His claim over our lives.
The sealing of the Holy Spirit introduces us to the vast realm of the warring sides of the world's ongoing spiritual battles for our souls. We knew right and wrong existed before our salvation, but now we are made aware of the depth of our inherent sinfulness. Our newfound devotion to Jesus leads us with the Holy Spirit 's aid to put on the full armor of God to protect us in our warfare against a powerful yet defeated foe.
As our commitment to live a life pleasing to Christ grows, the expectations of our sealed life in Christ brings new joy to our lives. Jesus equips us to look beyond our earthly struggles while promoting hope in our future.
High expectations in a future life with Christ leads the believer into a viable hope that tomorrow can produce a better life than today. The believer who knows that joy that comes from sadness has discovered that the Lord is already in their midst.
