"Who am I? "

February 26, 2020

Who am I? What are the spiritual, natural, and social influences that make me who I am? The recent launch of the William Smith space telescope (latest iteration of the Tower of Babel project) is designed to go a million miles into space to capture what space looked like at the time the Big Bang occurred. This event represents mankind's ongoing quest to supplant God's Sovereignty with a natural godless rationale for life's origins.

Contrast man's thinking with remarks of shepherd David who upon staring into the night sky, commented on space and stars, the glory of the universe, and asked the question: who am I that you are mindful of human beings? (Psalm 8:3,4) God's response to David's query is, I have created you in my likeness (Genesis 1:25,26). I formed your inward parts, and you are fearfully and wonderfully made! (Psalm 139:13, 14.)

Our Creator God calls all believers His little children, part of His holy family (1 John 3:1)! Through the Holy Spirit He equips His children with the power to shine the light of truth throughout the world's darkness! 1 John 4:4

What else defines who am I? God has chosen you, you did not choose God! (Ephesians 2:8) His selecting us made us citizens of heaven! This earth is not our home, we are just passing through. (Philippians 3:20) Being selected by God, we are a new creation and the influences our old self have passed away. (Corinthians 5:17)

God's plans for His children reflect His unfailing love which gives you hope in your walk with God resulting in an eternal lifetime in His kingdom. (Jeremiah 29:11) He delivers us from the domain of darkness and transfers us into His kingdom of light and love! (Colossians 1:13)

Who am I? I am a member of a chosen race, a holy nation to proclaim God's love and excellencies to those living in darkness! (1 Peter 2:9) I AM an ambassador for Christ living as a stranger in this world to encourage those living in darkness to be reconciled to God. (2 Corinthians 1:30)

I am in Christ, a new, free citizen of heaven!

White lies and desperation
Hard times and conversation
No one should ever love me like you do

Sometimes my bad decisions
Define my false suspicions
No one should ever love me like you do

While I'm on this road you take my hand
Somehow you really love who I really am
I push you away, still you won't let go
You grow your roses on my barren soul

Who am I, who am I, who am I
To be loved by you?
Who am I, who am I, who am I
To be loved by you?

Who am I, who am I, who am I
To be loved by you?
Who am I, who am I, who am I?

Last night, confidence was shaken
My wounds and my past was saying
No one should ever love me like you do

While I'm on this road you take my hand
Somehow you really love who I really am
I push you away, still you won't let go
You grow your roses on my barren soul

Who am I, who am I, who am I
To be loved by you?
Who am I, who am I, who am I
To be loved by you?
Who am I, who am I, who am I
To be loved by you?
Who am I, who am I, who am I?

The way I put you through it, what you had to see
I'm a train wreck, I'm a mess, you see the best
And the worst in me
Still I can't imagine that I've earned your trust
I don't understand where your love comes from.

Who am I, who am I, who am I
To be loved by you?
Who am I, who am I, who am I
To be loved by you?
Who am I, who am I, who am I
To be loved by you?
Who am I, who am I, who am I
To be loved by you?
