The Godliness of Truth

2 Timothy 2:15: Present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and correctly handles the word of truth.

I must be vigilant to ensure that I always tell the truth! All truth is God's truth! Jesus is the way, the TRUTH, and the life! Once a person is saved the Holy Spirit installs truth at the entrance of the human heart. Then the heart begins its sanctifying role of subjecting the self to God's truth! Truth is not a guest in a believer's heart; it is the master of the house. In us truth must be a living force, in active energy, indwelling reality, part of the essence of who we are.

It is a Christian's privilege to have the assurance that the knowing the truth will be with us forever! It will be our living support, our dying comfort, our eternal glory. Without truth our faith has little value. Truth opens our eyes to the fact that we are sinners! It keeps us humble before God. It motivates us to read, sing, share our praises to God. In meditating upon Biblical truth God equips us for knowing and witnessing Scriptural truth.

Sharing God's truth with other believers knits us together in fellowship, strengthens our beliefs in the doctrines of grace, and eternal security! Wherever the love of truth is found, believers can be observed practicing God's love. We live in an era where the voice of truth is being drowned out by a cacophony of lies and conspiracy theories. America's public dialogue no longer can or chooses not to demand truth in our civil discourse. Tragically, large numbers of professing evangelicals are caught up in this secular phenomenon!

It is a rule of nature that the inward beliefs affect our outward behaviors. Therefore, the truth that is kindled within us causes God's brightness to shine forth in our outward life and conversation. To walk in the truth, empowers us to live a life of integrity, holiness, faithfulness, and humility. While contending for our Biblical faith, our righteous charge remains to live in the godliness taught by truth and to love God, our neighbors, our enemies, and the aliens within our borders as we love ourselves!

Oh, what I would do to have
The kind of faith it takes
To climb out of this boat I'm in
Onto the crashing waves

But the waves are calling out my name
And they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times
I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
Time and time again. "Boy, you'll never win!"
"You'll never win!"

But the voice of TRUTH tells me a different story
The voice of TRUTH says, "Do not be afraid!"
The voice of TRUTH says. "This is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of
TRUTH!! Casting Crowns
