The purpose of light is to reveal details of items hidden by darkness. Ideally, a Christian's life should reveal the image of Jesus. Without knowing the gospel, those around us should clearly perceive in our lives the love and humility modeled by our Savior!
Lights are intended for guidance. We are to help those who are lost in darkness! We point sinners to the Savior and the weary to a divine resting place. Representing God's light, we are prepared to instruct the seeker in the meaning of God's Word, the way of salvation and the life of godliness!
In this world there are many false lights flashing throughout our culture. Through the lust of life, lust of flesh and the pride of life, Satan is always tempting humanity to sin.
To the best of our ability Christians need to put the true light upon every dangerous rock to point out every sin and what it leads to. As a compassionate lover of all peoples, Christian lights have a cheering influence!
In his comforting role the Christian maintains kind words on his lips and sympathy in his heart. He carries sunshine wherever he goes and diffuses happiness all around him. May the gracious Spirit of light sustain us all the days of our lives!
