"Royal Members of God’s Family"

1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

Recently the Prince of Wales was crowned Charles III King of what’s left of the British Empire. Born into the royal family he is now entrusted to perform the King of England’s sovereign duties. In a very real sense, God has created his own royal family as the Holy Spirit gives birth to selected individual’s soul’s a spiritual phenomenon referred by Jesus as “born again.”

Gods elect family is not given an earthly crown nor a regal estate. These physical tokens of royalty are doomed to earthly destruction. Born from an indestructible seed, each member of His royal family is called out of earth’s spiritual darkness into God’s eternal light. As His selected children to reflect God’s light, we fulfill our royal obligations by loving one other and humbly serve and obey our Father’s Word.

As the judicious tutor of God’s children, the Holy Spirit trains us in acquiring an understanding of God’s righteousness. Although our earthly royalty’s glory will fade and cease, our immortal royalty will never pass away! Whereas the earthly king’s royalty is represented by a luxurious crown, a Christian’s royalty is infused in his inmost character/soul! A Christian’s display of royalty is noted in his love, compassion and humility towards others and his passionate love for God!

Let the dignity of our “born again” nature and the brightness in our hearts shine forth in our new nature! Cleave close to Christ and love others as Jesus loves you! And you will reflect the true witness of our royal calling and our Sovereign God’s reconciliation Gospel!
